Job summary

Lifesteps, Inc. is seeking a Director of Assistive Technology in Butler, PA. This full-time role leads AT research, strategy, and compliance, collaborating with agencies, vendors, and universities to deliver adaptive tech solutions and assess individuals with disabilities. Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, weekends off.

Responsibilities include assessment, training, program effectiveness, resource management, advocacy, and strict documentation aligned with RESNA guidelines.

Qualifications

• ATP or SHIFT certification (RESNA) within 3 months of hire.
• Experience assessing, recommending, and customizing AT solutions for disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of AT devices, software, and emerging solutions (e.g., AAC, adaptive access).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; current driver’s license; travel extensively in Western Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth Assistive Technology assessments for authorized billable clients.
• Demonstrate, configure, and train participants and families on AT hardware/software.
• Measure and analyze performance and impact of AT program technologies.
• Maintain precise inventory of AT devices and components.
• Advocate for AT access and lead public awareness activities.
• Document processes and ensure compliance with policies and RESNA guidelines.
