Job summary

Westminster Bradenton is hiring a Lead Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time day shift (7am-3pm) at our waterfront life plan community near downtown Bradenton. You will provide direct nursing care, supervise CNAs, ensure physician orders are followed, and coordinate resident care with the team.

Qualifications

• Must be Florida-licensed LPN.
• CPR certification required.
• One year of long-term care experience desirable.
• Experience with elderly or disabled populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by CNAs.
• Ensure care is coordinated and communication is consistent.
• Supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse and ensure adherence to physician orders.
• Enter physician orders into ECS and manage medication administration.
• Maintain the medication cart and audit PRN and controlled meds.
• Perform skin evaluations and treatments per protocol.
• Monitor vital signs and daily living activities.
• Assist residents with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring).

JOB SUMMARY: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with

Westminster Services and its communities.

• Ensure Care is coordinated, communication is consistent, and there is continuity of service.
• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission documentation in ECS.
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes.
• Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor's orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols.
• Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse.Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge:One year of long term care desirable. Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.

Medical Requirement: Must be willing to receive the influenza (flu) vaccine during flu season.
