Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida seeks a compassionate Lead LPN for a 7am-3pm full-time shift at Westminster Bradenton. You will provide direct nursing care, supervise CNAs, and ensure care aligns with physician orders in a waterfront life plan community near downtown Bradenton.

Requirements include current Florida LPN license and CPR certification; 1 year of long-term care experience is preferred. Flu vaccine may be requested. We offer competitive benefits and a warm work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Florida and CPR certified.
• One year of long-term care experience preferred (Med/Surg/Home Health acceptable).
• Willing to receive influenza vaccine during flu season.
• Experience supervising CNAs and coordinating resident care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse and ensure adherence to orders.
• Coordinate and provide direct nursing care per physician orders.
• Administer medications and ensure proper medication passes.
• Enter physician orders into ECS and monitor resident changes.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living and daily tasks.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with

Westminster Services and its communities.

• Ensure Care is coordinated, communication is consistent, and there is continuity of service.
• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission documentation in ECS.
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes.
• Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor’s orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols.
• Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse.Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge: One year of long term care desirable. Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.

Medical Requirement: Must be willing to receive the influenza (flu) vaccine during flu season.
