Job summary

Promise House in Iowa is seeking an Assisted Living Director to oversee daily operations of the assisted living community and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care. You will collaborate with residents, families, caregivers, and leadership to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

This role requires leadership in staffing, regulatory compliance, and budget oversight, with a focus on compassionate service, care planning, infection prevention, and community outreach to support occupancy

Qualifications

• Leadership or management experience in assisted living, senior living, long-term care, healthcare, or related settings preferred.
• Knowledge of resident-centered care and services for older adults.

Promise House is currently hiring an Assisted Living Director to lead daily operations and promote high-quality, resident-centered care within our assisted living community. The Assisted Living Director plays a critical role in overseeing resident services, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. As an Assisted Living Director, you will work closely with residents, families, caregivers, and facility leadership to ensure a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for every resident.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the assisted living community
• Ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate, and person-centered care
• Lead, mentor, and support caregiving and assisted living staff
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and staff development
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to meet resident needs
• Monitor resident care and services to ensure quality standards are consistently met
• Communicate and build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, healthcare providers, and community partners
• Address resident and family concerns in a professional and timely manner
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies
• Maintain survey readiness and support regulatory inspections and audits
• Participate in care planning and collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams regarding resident needs
• Monitor the safety, cleanliness, and overall environment of the assisted living community
• Support infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and resident safety initiatives
• Assist with managing departmental budgets, supplies, staffing, and operational resources
• Promote a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, compassion, and exceptional resident service
• Participate in community outreach and occupancy initiatives as needed
• Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or management experience in assisted living, senior living, long-term care, healthcare, or a related setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of resident-centered care and services for older adults
• Knowledge of assisted living regulations and compliance requirements preferred
• Experience leading, mentoring, and supporting employees
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, employees, and community partners
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic documentation
• Compassionate, professional, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional service to residents
