About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Executive Director to lead the day-to-day operations of our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. The Executive Director is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where residents receive exceptional care and team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

This is a highly visible leadership position for someone who understands that senior living is more than a business—it is a commitment to residents and their families. The ideal candidate combines strong operational and financial skills with genuine compassion, excellent communication, and a passion for serving older adults.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Community Operations
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the community's daily operations.
  • Establish a culture centered on resident dignity, safety, choice, and quality of life.
  • Maintain a strong presence throughout the community and build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and employees.
  • Ensure the community operates in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Partner with department leaders to establish goals, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Respond effectively and professionally to resident, family, employee, and operational concerns.
Resident Care & Quality
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality Assisted Living and Memory Care services.
  • Ensure residents receive individualized care consistent with their needs, preferences, service plans, and rights.
  • Promote person-centered dementia care practices and a supportive environment for residents living with memory impairment.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction, quality indicators, incidents, complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with families and responsible parties to maintain open communication and confidence in the community.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination with physicians, healthcare providers, pharmacies, hospitals, and other outside partners.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, develop, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Create clear expectations and hold leaders and employees accountable for performance.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, team-oriented workplace culture.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling to meet resident needs and operational requirements.
  • Conduct regular leadership meetings, employee meetings, performance reviews, and coaching conversations.
  • Recognize employee accomplishments and create opportunities for professional development.
  • Address employee relations matters fairly, consistently, and in accordance with company policies.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing Assisted Living and Memory Care operations.
  • Prepare the community for regulatory inspections, audits, licensing reviews, and surveys.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure required records are complete.
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigation, follow-up, and corrective action.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and risk management.
Financial & Business Management
  • Manage the community within established operating and financial goals.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, labor costs, purchasing, and departmental budgets.
  • Partner with ownership or regional leadership to develop and execute strategies for financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency without compromising resident care or employee experience.
  • Support occupancy growth and resident retention initiatives.
Sales, Marketing & Family Relations
  • Serve as a primary ambassador for the community.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective residents, families, referral partners, healthcare professionals, and community organizations.
  • Partner with the sales and marketing team to support tours, move-ins, and occupancy goals.
  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and outreach activities.
  • Ensure prospective residents and families receive an exceptional experience from their first interaction with the community.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Senior Living, Healthcare, or a related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing people, operations, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of senior living operations and resident-centered care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to lead with empathy while maintaining accountability and operational discipline.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must meet all licensing and regulatory requirements applicable to the position and community.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is a hands-on, visible, and approachable leader who understands how to balance business performance with exceptional resident care.

You are someone who:
