Waynesburg University Department of Athletics is seeking a graduate student to assist staff and coaches with the day-to-day operations of the department, specifically assigned to Women’s Soccer. Position entails working 19 hours a week in the Athletic Department. The graduate assistant will report to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and Director of Athletics.
Duties include:
Assist in the direction of assigned athletic teams
Assist in the organization of practice sessions
Work in accordance with all staff members of the Athletics Department and Waynesburg University
Represent Waynesburg University Athletic Department in a positive manner
Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the athletic program, as directed by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Assist in the preparation of game and practice sites
Possess the ability to communicate the mission of the University and the goals of the Athletic Department to student-athletes
Serve as site administrator for home athletic events out of season
Comply with all rules affiliated with Waynesburg University, the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, and Division III of the NCAA
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and/or Director of Athletics
Job Qualifications: All interested candidates will need to successfully enroll in a graduate program at Waynesburg University in order to be eligible for the assistantship. Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication and computer skills, familiarity with a variety of software such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Adobe Professional, Front Rush, Slate, etc.; the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines; and availability to work evenings, Sundays and occasional weekends.
