Cleveland Clinic understands that keeping up with nutritional needs is essential to staying well. As a Nutrition and Dietetics Porter, you will help us promote patient health and safety by performing various cleaning, pot/dishwashing and sanitary duties within the department. Your efforts to create a sterile and orderly workspace allows us to continue meeting the highest food standards possible. All the while, you will gain extensive hands-on experience, make meaningfull caregiver relationships and explore the endless opportunities at Cleveland Clinic.
**A caregiver in this position works evenings from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Keep the work area neat and organized, including refrigeration, hoods, ovens, fryer and ranges.
+ Operate, assemble/disassemble and clean dish machine.
+ Ensure proper temperature, chemical supplies and clean water levels are maintained for proper operation.
+ Transport clean and dried wares, supplies, food/beverage items, prepared meals, and patient food carts.
+ Assist Lead Porter or other staff in lifting or transporting heavy or difficult items.
+ Transport used hot grease to holding barrels.
+ Report any equipment, personnel, safety, order, supply, assignment, recipe or quantity/quality discrepancy to immediate supervisor.
+ Operate garbage disposal, cart elevator (when necessary), trash compactor, grease filter machine, Wet Vac (with Ground Fault Indicator) and dish machine.
+ Prepare items for unit orders and stock supplies for unit/office as required.
+ Fill orders from inventory with proper documentation for charging given to Bookkeeper.
+ Filter grease, load trays into patient carts, maintain ice in Cafeteria ice dispensers, fill chemical dispensers throughout department and keep floors dry and free of litter or debris.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Understanding of orders/invoices
+ Knowledge of mathematics to ensure extensions of invoices and supply levels
+ Three months of experience in a similar role
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High School Diploma/GED

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to work rapidly to meet time deadlines performs work requiring continuous standing and lifting of materials (50 - 60 pounds) with high requirements for good eyesight and good arm and hand dexterity.
+ Good eye/hand coordination essential.
+ Ability to work most of the day while standing, walking, lifting, reaching, bending, carrying, climbing and pushing; a willingness to do Lead Porter work when required.
