Job description

The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach provides administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services to the Women's Soccer program under the supervision of the Head Coach at Heidelberg University.

Supervision Exercised:

Responsible for Graduate Assistants and may supervise student employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruit quality student-athletes capable of competing at the NCAA level and achieving academic success.
  • Achieve competitive results demonstrating athletic excellence.
  • Provide leadership in the personal development of student-athletes by projecting a positive and professional image.
  • Design a competitive schedule that maximizes development and performance.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with alumni and friends of the program.
  • Assist in planning and implementing practice and competition schedules.
  • Participate in fundraising activities.
  • Uphold high professional standards and adhere to NCAA, Ohio Athletics Conference, University, and Department standards.
  • Administer home events and assist in team travel and recruit visits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Desired Attributes and Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2-4 years coaching/athletic experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to recruit high-level student-athletes.
  • Specialty in soccer coaching.
  • Experience in collegiate coaching or playing at the collegiate level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and relate to diverse individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
Tools and Equipment:

Knowledge of office equipment, recruiting software, and databases. Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Frequent use of arms, hands, and fingers; mobility; outdoor conditions; lifting requirements; vision capabilities; stress management; and a work environment that includes indoor and outdoor venues with varying noise levels.
