Job summary

Magna Dry, a division of Midwest Remediation (MWR), is seeking an Assistant Water Mitigation Technician for our Lafayette, IN team. You will work with experienced technicians on water mitigation and restoration projects, responding to emergencies and helping customers recover from water damage.

This full-time role offers $20.00–$25.00/hour, plus benefits and ongoing training. You should be dependable, able to lift up to 80 pounds, and willing to work overtime or on-call shifts as needed.

This is an assistant‑level position where you'll work alongside lead and senior technicians to help complete water mitigation and restoration projects. You'll play an important role in responding to emergencies, supporting your team, and helping customers recover from unexpected water damage.

THE ROLE

As an Assistant Water Mitigation Technician, you'll work under the direction of experienced technicians to help ensure mitigation and restoration projects are completed efficiently and correctly. Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting lead technicians with water mitigation and restoration projects
• Following instructions and completing physical job‑site tasks
• Loading and retrieving tools, equipment, and supplies from the warehouse
• Communicating effectively with leads and other team members
• Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked work vehicles
• Cleaning and organizing tools and equipment
• Properly using PPE and required safety equipment
• Responding to emergency calls and severe weather events
• Supporting disaster response efforts when needed

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Successful candidates will have:

• Experience in water mitigation or restoration
• Punctuality, dependability, and ability to take initiative
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 80 pounds
• Ability to wear PPE and work in various environments (outdoors, indoors without air conditioning, areas with microbial growth, etc)
• Ability to work overtime
• Willingness to work holidays as needed

Strong communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn are important in this role. Familiarity with PPE and safety procedures is helpful.

SCHEDULE & EMERGENCY RESPONSE

We operate 24/7/365 because water damage doesn't happen on a convenient schedule. Your typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, along with a rotating on‑call schedule.

When an emergency occurs, we need team members who are ready to respond quickly and help get the job done.
