Job summary

Georgia State University seeks an Assistant Vice President for Student Life to lead strategic initiatives across a dynamic, diverse campus community of 50,000+ students. This senior role reports to the Vice President for Student Engagement and advances belonging, leadership development, and campus life.

You will guide directors, supervise staff, and manage budgets while collaborating with campus partners to enhance student success and engagement. A strong commitment to inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required with five years of related experience in higher education.
• Preferred Doctorate in higher education and leadership experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for directors and senior staff across multiple Student Life departments.
• Advise the 6-campus Student Government Association on advocacy and governance.
• Collaborate on marketing/branding to boost use of Student Center facilities.
• Manage divisional budgets, staffing, and resource planning.
• Oversee event and facility management using 25Live software.
• Oversee policy development, risk management, and compliance for student events.
• Represent Student Life on institutional committees and leadership groups.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs and campus partners to boost student success.
• Lead assessment efforts and use data to improve outcomes.
