Job summary

Webster International in Webster Groves, MO, seeks an Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the head coach in implementing training, teaching fundamentals, and fostering student-athlete growth.

You will assist with skill instruction, practices, game duties, recruitment visits, and mentoring; you’ll represent the university, uphold NCAA rules, and collaborate with the athletic staff to promote academic and athletic excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in coaching volleyball or other related volleyball activities.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to exercise important human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the university community and the public.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience promoting inclusive excellence.

Responsibilities

• Primary duty is to assist the head coach in the implementation of sport training through teaching and instructing the student-athletes in the rules and fundamentals of volleyball.
• Under the direction of the head coach, will assist in providing sport skill instruction, assist in the conduct of practice sessions, perform game related duties, and motivate players to give their best efforts.
• Contribute to recruiting efforts through on-campus visits and off-campus evaluation.
• Mentor student athletes.
• Demonstrate sincere interest in the personal, academic and athletic success of the student-athlete.
• Represent the University in a positive manner at all times.
• Abide by all SLIAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Assisting other coaches in the department with game management duties.
• May supervise student assistants and/or student managers.
