Job summary

University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis is seeking an Assistant Coach to develop student-athletes, work with the head coach, and support recruiting, planning, and team management across the season.

This is a salaried, year-round, 0.80 FTE position that requires a significant time commitment during the sports season, with a flexible schedule outside the season; duties include coaching, instruction, travel with the team, and collaboration with Admissions and Financial Aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; in lieu of a bachelor’s degree consider candidates with some college experience and substantial work experience coaching.
• Playing experience at a collegiate level strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of NAIA and conference rules and regulations.
• Excellent communication with players, recruits and parents; understanding the academic climate at UHSP.
• Driver’s license and transportation for off-campus facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coaching, teaching and student development and support (at least 50% during competition season).
• Provide one-on-one and team development through skill and sport instruction and feedback.
• Assist with practices and game strategy; participate in video review and scouting.
• Support head coaches in recruitment and tracking prospective student athletes.
• Coordinate team travel logistics and participate in fundraising and admissions collaboration.
• Attend department meetings and promote UHSP values.
