Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation SALES and OPERATIONS leadership.
• Lead RFP and RFIs, pricing, lane analysis, and customer requirements.
• Oversee brokerage operations, including carrier relationships, load execution, and service performance.
• Manage lane assignments, capacity planning, and carrier capacity.
• Establish, monitor, and improve KPIs and operational metrics.
• Partner with sales to develop solutions, improve margins, retain customers, and identify growth opportunities.
• Monitor transportation performance, service levels, costs, and profitability.
• Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
• Oversee cross-border transportation operations and related compliance requirements.
• Identify operational efficiencies and implement processes that improve service and profitability.
• Develop and lead transportation teams while holding managers and staff accountable for performance.
• Work directly with customers, carriers, and internal leadership to resolve complex transportation issues.
• Provide strategic insight into capacity, pricing, service, and overall transportation performance.

Are you a seasoned logistics leader who understands both transportation sales and operations?

I'm working with an established organization seeking an Assistant Vice President of Logistics to provide senior-level leadership across transportation SALES and OPERATIONS. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands the complexities of freight brokerage, transportation management, customer requirements, and operational execution.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of progressive logistics experience and a proven track record managing transportation operations while partnering closely with sales and customers.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Lead and participate in RFP and RFI responses, pricing, lane analysis, and customer requirements
• Oversee brokerage operations, including carrier relationships, load execution, and service performance

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of transportation/logistics experience
• Strong background in both transportation sales and operations
• Proven experience with freight brokerage operations
• Hands-on experience with RFPs and RFIs
• Strong understanding of lane management, capacity, and carrier procurement
• Experience developing and managing KPIs and operational metrics
• Solid knowledge of DOT compliance and transportation regulations
• Cross-border transportation experience
• Strong understanding of transportation pricing, margins, service levels, and profitability
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and working cross-functionally
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• Ability to operate at both the strategic and operational level
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but significant relevant industry experience will be considered
