The role offers the ability to combine technical expertise, executive leadership, innovation, and organizational change management while making a measurable impact on student outcomes and institutional success.**Position / Job Summary**The Assistant Vice Chancellor, Enterprise Data Architecture and Reporting is an enterprise leadership role responsible for ensuring Dallas College data are reliable, secure, well governed, and ready for institutional decision-making and accountability. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor, Strategic Research, Analytics & Effectiveness, the Assistant Vice Chancellor provides strategic and operational leadership for data warehousing, data governance, and official reporting functions. This position establishes the architecture, standards, controls, and service models that move data from source systems into trusted institutional data products; ensures timely and accurate state, federal, accreditation, and other official submissions; and advances shared definitions, stewardship, and data quality across the College. The Assistant Vice Chancellor leads technical and reporting professionals, partners closely with Information Technology and functional leaders, and remains sufficiently hands-on to guide data modeling, code review, troubleshooting, and modernization. The ideal candidate combines deep higher education reporting experience, strong technical and coding expertise, responsible use of AI and automation, and demonstrated success leading people and organizational change.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities*** Develop and execute an enterprise strategy and multi-year roadmap for data warehousing, governance, data quality, and official reporting aligned with Dallas College priorities.* Establish operating standards, service expectations, performance measures, and decision rights across data warehousing, governance, and official reporting functions.* Oversee the architecture, development, integration, performance, and reliability of the enterprise data warehouse and related pipelines.* Ensure data ingestion, transformation, modeling, testing, documentation, monitoring, and release processes produce accurate, timely, scalable, and reusable data assets.* Lead the College's data governance framework, stewardship network, policies, standards, and processes in partnership with functional data owners and Information Technology.* Implement data-quality rules, scorecards, exception monitoring, source-system reconciliation, issue escalation, and remediation processes that make quality measurable and accountable.* Provide executive oversight for state, federal, accreditation, and other official reporting, including calendars, assignments, validation, approvals, certifications, corrections, and final submission.* Develop a responsible AI and automation roadmap to improve accuracy, speed, documentation, testing, monitoring, and staff capacity while maintaining human validation.* Lead, organize, coach, and evaluate leaders and staff across data warehousing, governance, and official reporting; set clear goals, roles, performance expectations, and development plans.* Ensure access, handling, retention, and sharing practices comply with institutional policy, FERPA, privacy requirements, cybersecurity standards, and least-privilege principles.**Minimum and Preferred - Education, Experience, and/or Certifications****Required Qualifications for Role*** Master's degree in information systems, computer science, data engineering, data science, analytics, institutional research, higher education administration, or a related field.* Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in data warehousing, data engineering, data governance, institutional research, analytics, or official reporting, including substantial experience in a higher education environment.* Five (5) years of experience leading and developing teams, including managers and/or multidisciplinary technical and reporting professionals.* Direct experience producing or overseeing state and federal higher education reports, with responsibility for validation, reconciliation, certification, corrections, and audit support; Texas higher education reporting experience preferred.* Proficiency in SQL and demonstrated proficiency in Python or another relevant programming language, with experience using modern data platforms and ETL/ELT technologies.* Demonstrated experience implementing data governance, metadata, lineage, stewardship, and enterprise data-quality practices.* Demonstrated experience using AI and automation responsibly to improve data engineering, reporting, documentation, validation, or operational processes.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence decisions across diverse technical, operational, and executive groups.**Preferred Qualifications for Role*** Doctorate degree in a related field preferred.* Official transcripts required.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*** Comprehensive knowledge of higher education data, business processes, accountability, and official reporting
