Job summary

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Colton, CA, is recruiting for Assistant Unit Manager I - Specialty Care in the Behavioral Health unit on night shift. The role supervises a complex Specialty Care unit, assists the Unit Manager, coordinates staffing, and guides day-to-day clinical operations on the overnight shift.

The ideal candidate holds California RN licensure, 2 years in nursing with 6 months in Behavioral Health, and a current BLS.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Two (2) years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse with six (6) months of experience in a Behavioral Health Unit.
• Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Issued by the American Heart Association).
• The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, supervisory/charge nurse experience, and certifications in Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Assist Unit Manager with the management and supervision of a complex Specialty Care unit (Behavioral Health) including in-patient, Special Observation, Triage and Crisis Stabilization units.
• Assign and review work, provide input on Work Performance Evaluations, oversee staffing, and administer discipline.
• Serve as the first level in the grievance process and assist with day-to-day clinical operations on a designated shift.
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of a patient care unit, ensuring safe and effective patient care during the night shift.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Assistant Unit Manager I - Specialty Care in the Behavioral Health unit. Assistant Unit Managers I - Specialty Care are the first supervisory level in the nursing series responsible for assisting a Unit Manager with the management and supervision of a complex Specialty Care unit such as Behavioral Health units; In-patient, Special Observation unit, Triage and Crisis Stabilization units. Duties include responsibility to assign and review work, provide input on Work Performance Evaluations, oversee staffing, administer and effectively recommend discipline, serves as the first level in the grievance process, and assist with the day-to-day clinical operations of a patient care unit or service on a designated shift.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.

Certifications: Additional certifications may be required depending on the needs of the department.

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
