Job summary

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Colton, CA, is recruiting for Assistant Unit Manager I to support Unit Manager in Medical/Surgical, Telemetry or Postpartum units on a designated shift.

The role requires a California RN license, at least two years of hospital RN experience, and current BLS certification; ACLS and other unit-specific certifications are expected. This is a first supervisory level with charge nurse duties and staffing oversight.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of full-time RN experience in a hospital setting.
  • Must hold valid RN license in California.
  • Current BLS certification; additional certifications may be required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Unit Manager in staffing and workflow on assigned shift.
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and nursing care.
  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
  • Participate in grievance process and disciplinary actions if needed.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Assistant Unit Managers I. Assistant Unit Managers I are the first supervisory level in the nursing series responsible for assisting a Unit Manager with the management and supervision of a Medical/Surgical, Telemetry or Postpartum Unit. Duties include responsibility to assign and review work, oversee staffing, administer and effectively recommend discipline, serves as the first level in the grievance process, and assist with the day-to-day clinical operations of a patient care unit or service on a designated shift and perform charge nurse duties.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. Conditions of Employment

Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.

Certifications: Additional certifications may be required depending on the needs of the department.

Candidates must possess ALL of the following:

License: Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.

Certification: Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Issued by the American Heart Association) AND certifications/courses required by unit.

Candidates possessing a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and charge nurse experience are desired.
