Job summary

CRC Group in Alabama is seeking an Underwriting Support Specialist to assist underwriters by preparing documentation, processing policies, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information within the underwriting process.

You will maintain underwriting files, liaise with internal teams and external partners, and help evaluate coverage renewals and endorsements with limited supervision. Strong data entry and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years in underwriting support or related role.
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and rating procedures preferred.
• Experience with data entry in insurance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist underwriters with data collection, policy documentation, and file maintenance.
• Review and verify policy forms, applications, and endorsements for completeness and accuracy.
• Process and issue policy changes, cancellations, and renewals in accordance with company procedures.
• Communicate with brokers, agents, and internal departments to resolve inquiries and obtain required information.
• Perform rating and premium calculations using underwriting guidelines and systems.
• Compile underwriting data for reporting, analysis, and audits.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Identify discrepancies and elevate complex issues to underwriting staff as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
