Responsibilities

• Assist with game-day preparation and team activities before, during, and after competitions.
• Assist with basic equipment, field, and practice set-up and breakdown as needed.
• Provide support during home and away competitions assigned.
• Travel with the team to selected competitions when requested by the Head Coach.
• Support the Head Coach and Track & Field program in maintaining a positive, safe, and professional environment for student-athletes.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Track & Field Coach is a limited, part-time stipend position that provides practice and meet-day support to the Columbia College Track & Field program. This position works under the direction of the Head Track & Field Coach and is intended to provide additional coaching and operational support during team activities.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Head Track & Field Coach and coaching staff during team practices as needed.
• Provide on-site support during drills, skill development activities, and other practice activities as directed by the Head Coach.
• Assist with game-day preparation and team activities before, during, and after competitions.
• Assist with basic equipment, field, and practice set-up and breakdown as needed.
• Provide support during home and away competitions assigned.
• Game day preparations, including court set-up and break down, uniform and equipment preparation, game-plan preparation, warm-up activities, and game evaluation.
• Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and other assigned team activities.
• Travel with the team to selected competitions when requested by the Head Coach.
• Support the Head Coach and Track &Field program in maintaining a positive, safe, and professional environment for student-athletes.
• Demonstrate professionalism and work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, officials, and other members of the Columbia College community.
• Work effectively with students, student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, officials, and coaching peers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited Institution
• At least two years NAIA/NCAA coaching experience
