Veronica Beard is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Technical Designer in New York to partner with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure garments meet fit, construction, and quality standards while maintaining brand integrity.

The role involves measuring samples, collaborating with patternmakers and factories, tracking samples, and preparing fit comments, with a focus on organization and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Associate/Technical Degree in Patternmaking or Technical Design.
• 1–2 years technical design or pattern-making experience.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and fit principles.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, PLM, and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong vendor communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Measure samples, support Technical Design Team, and participate in fit sessions.
• Collaborate with domestic patternmakers and factories to troubleshoot issues and convey fit corrections.
• Assist in evaluating samples for quality and construction.
• Track samples and create weekly fit lists, coordinating with models and teams.
• Support the team to meet calendar milestones and due dates.
• Maintain organization of sample closet and archives.
• Maintain organization of patterns and cutters' musts.
• Prepare fit comments and sketches as needed, analyzing garment construction.
• Ship samples to factories.
