Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks an assistant teacher to collaborate with teachers in delivering small-group instruction for K-12 students with diverse needs.

You will monitor student progress, support behavior and academic development, and help implement SESI’s PBIS Framework in daily activities and assessments. Strong teamwork and flexible, student-centered approaches are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with small group instruction and personalized support.
• Collaborate with the teacher to implement the SESI academic rotation model.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments and track student progress.
• Provide accommodations and modifications as needed for individual students.
• Support, document, and monitor student growth toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise students during transitions and ensure safety in school locations.
• Use behavior support strategies and PBIS framework when appropriate.
• Assist with planning daily lessons and activities.
• Contribute to collaboration with other teachers and related service providers.
