Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support small groups, implement SESI’s PBIS CASE framework, and assist with behavior and academic support for K-12 students requiring extra help.

You will track progress, communicate with parents, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. Join SESI to work with a diverse student population, collaborate with teachers and specialists, and grow professionally in a nationally networked educational services

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varied backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction with the SESI model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning, assign tasks, and use data to select materials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and de-escalation strategies.
• Support daily plans and track student growth and progress toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safe movement between locations.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers.
