Job summary

ST VINCENT DE PAUL OF BALTIMORE INC is seeking an Assistant Teacher to provide a safe, stimulating environment for young children under the supervision of the Teacher. The role supports learning through guided activities, language development, and nurturing early social and emotional growth.

You'll help plan weekly lessons, maintain accurate records, and participate in team planning. The position involves collaboration with families and staff to promote inclusive, developmentally appropriate

Qualifications

• 90 Hour Certification is required.
• CDA is preferred.
• An Associate Degree is preferred.
• At least 1 year of classroom experience preferred.
• Experience with homeless populations, substance abuse or mental health challenges is valued.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a stimulating learning environment under supervision of the Teacher.
• Assist with planning and organizing activities and routines.
• Support language development and expressive skills.
• Maintain records (attendance, meals, individualized plans) and report needs.
• Collaborate with CDT and staff to implement center plans and policies.
• Engage parents through conferences and home visits.
