Job summary

St. Martin’s-in-the-Field Episcopal School in Severna Park, MD is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant. This full-time or part-time role supports developmentally appropriate learning and joyful classroom activities for our youngest students.

Responsibilities include supervising children for safety, supporting small-group instruction, lunch/recess/carpool duties, and light clerical tasks. Strong communication and collaboration with families are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proven experience working with preschool children.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents.
• Follow basic principles of childhood development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students to ensure safety and focus.
• Assist with whole-group and small-group instruction.
• Assist with lunch, recess, and carpool duties.
• Perform clerical duties (make copies, take attendance, decorate classroom and bulletin boards, prepare materials for activities).
• Other duties as assigned.
