Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks a paraprofessional to support K-12 students with special needs in partnership with classroom teachers. You will assist with small-group instruction, monitor behavior, and reinforce skills using SESI’s instructional model.

In this role, you will collaborate with educators, track student progress, and help implement individualized support plans while maintaining safety and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction and implement SESI’s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher in providing customized support and assessments.
• Reinforce learning, assign relevant tasks, and track student progress.
• Assist the teacher with activities, grading, and accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and maintain safety of students and staff.
• Support daily plans and monitor student growth across academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise students and coordinate with staff to address needs.
