The Learning Experience - Jenison is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Lead Teachers in daily classroom activities, meals, rest, and transitions in a safe, engaging environment in Jenison, Michigan. You will help create positive experiences for children while following center guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, or experience working with children preferred.
• Professional early childhood experience is a plus, but not required.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and complete required training.
• Must meet Michigan licensing requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Engage children through stories, art, sensory play, music, movement, and hands-on experiences.
• Assist with meals, rest time, diapering, toileting, and transitions as appropriate.
• Encourage children's independence and positive social interactions.
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management.
• Help maintain appropriate supervision and classroom ratios.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Keep classrooms clean, safe, organized, and welcoming.
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements.

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
