The Children’s House, affiliated with St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System, seeks caring staff to provide direct care and supervision for infants to preschoolers in a developmentally supportive setting in Savannah, GA.
Responsibilities include assisting lead teachers, implementing lesson plans, maintaining records, and communicating with families. CPR/First Aid within 45 days is required; health and safety guidelines must be followed. CDA preferred for advancement.

High School Diploma or GED; and 3 or more years of early care and education experience with young children
Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) - Preferred
Technical Certificate of Credit in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; Technical College Diploma (TCD) in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or Associate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field - Preferred
Experience working with infants, toddlers, or pre-school-aged children - Required
1 Year of experience following health, safety, and licensing guidelines - Required
1 Year of experience demonstrating communication skills - Required
CPR/First Aid Certification - Required within 45 days from date of hire
Provide direct care and active supervision of children at all times while maintaining a safe, healthy environment. Ensure proper response to injuries, emergencies, administering medication as required, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state licensing regulations.
Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom routines, including transitions, meals, activities and supervision. Help maintain an organized and orderly learning environment.
Support implementation of daily lesson plans and activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Encourage child participation and independence.
Maintain accurate child records, daily reports, attendance, and required documentation including incident reports and medication logs when applicable.
Provide daily communication to families through informal conversations and written updates. Participate in parent conferences as needed.
