Job summary

The Children’s House, affiliated with St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System, seeks caring staff to provide direct care and supervision for infants to preschoolers in a developmentally supportive setting in Savannah, GA.

Responsibilities include assisting lead teachers, implementing lesson plans, maintaining records, and communicating with families. CPR/First Aid within 45 days is required; health and safety guidelines must be followed. CDA preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years of early care and education experience with young children.
• Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) - Preferred
• Technical Certificate of Credit or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field - Preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification - Required within 45 days from date of hire
• Experience following health, safety, and licensing guidelines and strong communication with families

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and active supervision of children at all times, maintaining a safe, healthy environment.
• Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom routines, including transitions, meals, activities and supervision.
• Support implementation of daily lesson plans and activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
• Maintain accurate child records, daily reports, attendance, and required documentation including incident reports and medication logs when applicable.
• Provide daily communication to families through informal conversations and written updates; participate in parent conferences as needed.
• Follow licensing regulations, Quality-Rated standards, and center policies regarding health, safety, supervision, and sanitation; collaborate with staff and directors.
