Job summary

Southwest is seeking an Assistant Head Start Teacher to support a pre-school classroom in Parsons, Tennessee.

You will assist the lead teacher, serve in absence of regular teacher, make home visits, encourage parent involvement, and collaborate with staff on enrollment and family needs.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; a Child Development Associate credential or degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred; willingness to continue education and pass background checks is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A Child Development Associate Credential preferred.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred: experience/training in working with preschool children desired
• must be willing to continue education. Basic computer knowledge.
• Must pass physical exam, drug screen, and criminal/fingerprint background check.
