Job summary

ADP, Inc. is hiring a Head Start Teacher to lead a Murfreesboro Head Start classroom. This full-time professional role focuses on delivering high-quality early childhood education and fostering developmental growth in young children.

The position emphasizes family engagement, regular communication with parents, and collaboration with staff to implement diverse lesson plans and learning activities. Strong knowledge of early childhood standards is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate Degree (A.A. or A.A.S.) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. / B.S.) with a valid Tennessee Teaching License with a Pre-K endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Head Start classroom to ensure smooth operation and service delivery.
  • Assess each child’s developmental level and use this information to support individualized learning.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans with diverse learning materials, activities, and experiences.
  • Engage parents in their child’s education through training, volunteer opportunities, and direct involvement.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents through various methods such as home visits, conferences, phone calls, and newsletters.
  • Conduct monthly home visits to assist parents in understanding child development and behavioral patterns.
  • Support parents in accessing community resources and services as needed.
  • Assist parents in problem-solving and address concerns collaboratively.
  • Help with meal preparation, cleanup, and dine with children.
  • Participate in classroom and center-wide cleaning duties as required.
  • Collect and maintain required health records and reports.
  • Assist with parent meetings and trainings.
  • Recruit children for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and conferences at local, state, and national levels.
  • Support efforts to secure volunteer contributions and in-kind donations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, including Head Start Performance Standards, DHS Licensing, CACFP, Department of Health, and NAEYC Accreditation.

Education

Minimum Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
Bachelor’s Degree with Tennessee Pre-K endorsement preferred

Education and Experience Qualifications:
