Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is hiring an assistant teacher for a part-time, hourly position. You will help plan engaging, age-appropriate activities and connect with families in our community.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least 2 years (2500 hours) of verified childcare experience. The YMCA offers a supportive team, flexible scheduling, and access to member benefits across branches.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by identifying, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
