Job summary

Jobless in Virginia is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our caring early-education team. We offer two full-time openings and one part-time opening in a collaborative, child-centered environment.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an optional 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM for the part-time shift. You will support routines, activities, and child development while maintaining a safe, welcoming classroom.

Qualifications

• Meet Virginia child care licensing requirements for Assistant Teachers.
• Experience in childcare or early childhood setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of children through active supervision.
• Support daily routines, including meals, rest time, hygiene, and transitions.
• Assist Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate learning activities and lesson plans.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom that encourages development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.
• Use positive guidance techniques to encourage appropriate behavior.
• Build relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Follow licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and center policies.
• Assist with attendance, documentation, and administrative tasks as needed.
• Participate in required training and ongoing professional development.

Experience
