Job summary

Macalester College is seeking an Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach to support all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III program in Saint Paul, MN. The role involves coaching during practices and competitions, supporting Masters workouts, and assisting with recruiting and event management.

It is a 12-month position with approximately 3–15 hours per week, with evenings and weekends required. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment,

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• 1–3+ years of collegiate swimming experience preferred.
• Knowledge of swimming training methods, practice planning, and competitive strategies.
• Strong teaching, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• General proficiency with current office and computer technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting safe, effective team practices.
• Provide coaching and instruction during practices and competitions.
• Assist with supervision of Masters swimming workouts.
• Support home meet preparation, recruiting, and other program events as needed.
• Assist with recruiting activities as needed.
• Promote a positive, inclusive team environment and represent Macalester College with professionalism.
