Job summary

Macalester College seeks an Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach to support all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III program. This 12-month role assists with team practices, competitions, recruiting, event management, and student-athlete development, and also coaches Macalester’s Masters swimming program.

Evening and weekend hours are required. The successful candidate will join the Head Coach and staff to build a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment that advances athletic,

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or supporting collegiate swimming preferred.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with student‑athletes, families, coaches, officials, and staff.
• Proficiency with standard office software and data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct safe, effective team practices.
• Provide coaching and instruction during practices and competitions.
• Assist with supervision of Masters swimming workouts.
• Support home meet preparation, recruiting, and other program events.
• Assist with recruiting activities as needed.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, team‑oriented environment and represent Macalester with professionalism and sportsmanship.
• Develop positive working relationships with student‑athletes, families, coaches, officials, and campus/community members.
