Job summary

City of New York is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for the W-2 and FICA Refunds Unit within the Payroll Banking and Accounting group. You will assist with daily workflows, analyze refunds processes, and support system enhancements to the FICA Refund System.

The role requires strong communication, data analysis, and proficiency with Microsoft 365. Experience with PMS, Pi, CHRMS, RMDS, and ClearQuest is preferred. Location is 5 Manhattan West, NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 24 accounting credits and 4 years progressive accounting/auditing experience, 18 months in a supervisory role.
• CPA license and at least 18 months of supervisory accounting/auditing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor with managing the Unit's daily assignment workflows.
• Analyze and document W-2 and FICA Refunds Unit processes and procedures.
• Support recommendations for feature additions in the FICA Refund System.
• Review wage and deduction summaries in Pi and/or PMS; process negative one-time deductions in Pi.
• Assist with managing multiple FICA refund claims.
• Perform analytical/accounting tasks as assigned by Payroll Banking and Accounting management.
