1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for our Production department to support the Department Supervisor in daily operations within a fast-paced production warehouse. You will lead hands-on staff, monitor workflow, assist with staffing and training, and help maintain a safe, productive work environment.

Job description

The Production departments create personalized gifts for our customers. The Assistant Supervisor supports the Department Supervisor in overseeing daily operations within a fast-paced production warehouse environment, helping ensure products are completed consistently, efficiently, & according to established quality & customer service standards.

This role provides hands-on leadership to production staff, monitors workflow & department performance, supports training & staffing needs, & helps maintain a safe, productive, & positive work environment.

Shift:1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Peak season schedule may vary based on business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor daily department efficiency using reports, calculations, administrative data, & production tracking information
• Monitor order backlog & workflow throughout the shift, with particular attention to express & priority orders
• Inspect & distribute picked materials to production lines & personnel
• Guide & assist POCs & production staff to meet required productivity & output levels
• Support the Department Supervisor in coordinating daily workflow, staffing, & production priorities
• Assist with training new & existing team members & making staffing adjustments as needed
• Ensure equipment settings are accurate & appropriate for current production needs
• Perform routine equipment maintenance & assist the production team with diagnosing & resolving basic equipment issues
• Identify & report safety concerns, policy violations, quality issues, & operational concerns to the Department Supervisor
• Provide recommendations to improve productivity, workflow, & department efficiency when appropriate
• Help maintain a clean, organized, & safe production environment
• Promote teamwork, positive morale, accountability, & high-performance expectations
• Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, & reliability while reinforcing these expectations within the team
• Perform additional department-specific duties as assigned by the Supervisor

• Understanding of production lines, workflow, & equipment capacities

• Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications
• Strong organizational skills & ability to maintain a clean & orderly work environment

• Demonstrates initiative & a willingness to learn & grow with the company
• English reading & speaking proficiency required

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience &/or training, or an equivalent combination of education & experience

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to sit &/or stand for 8+ hours
• Strong attendance, punctuality, & reliability required
• Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes during peak periods

Additional Information

Additional duties, responsibilities, & skills may be required based on individual department needs.

The expected salary range for this position is $19.00 to $23.00 hourly. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, & other factors permitted by law.
