Job Summary

Seeking a 2nd shift Assistant Supervisor for Preventive Maintenance, working from 3:30pm to 12:00am. Responsible for supervising and coordinating maintenance activities at Auburn University, including planning and executing preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure campus facilities remain operational, supporting the university's academic, research, and outreach missions.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate daily tasks of maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring safety, timeliness, and compliance with regulations.
• Assist in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment; provide technical support and inspections.
• Maintain accurate work data and respond to client inquiries, ensuring high-quality service.
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs, including after-hours work.
• Manage records, communicate with stakeholders, and assist in developing procedures and project updates.
• Participate in recruitment, performance evaluations, and client meetings to assess and plan maintenance needs.
• Assist in budget management, shop purchases, and material requests.
• Meet training and certification requirements; perform specialized building and grounds maintenance tasks.
• Supervise staff, including training, evaluations, and employment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in construction and trades
• Valid Driver’s License

Substitution of education for experience may be considered at a rate of one year of relevant education per year of experience.

Skills and Certifications

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and construction principles
• Experience with work order systems and Microsoft Office
• Effective communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License

Compensation and Work Environment

Salary Range: $50,730 - $81,160
Work hours: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
