Job summary

Sesame Place in San Diego seeks an Assistant Supervisor for Guest Arrival to lead a team and deliver first‑contact guest experiences. You’ll supervise Ambassadors, coordinate operations in Parking Lot, Ticketing, Turnstiles, and Check-In, and help maintain safety and cleanliness around guests and animals.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, with a valid driver’s license, CPR/AED certification, and strong communication skills; leadership experience is highly desirable and availability during peak

Qualifications

• Availability during peak season including weekends and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• CPR/AED training/certification is required.
• Ability to be certified on all attractions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors, around water and at heights up to 350 ft.
• Previous cash handling experience and ability to work multiple selling systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and counsel Ambassadors.
• Oversee Guest Arrival areas such as Parking Lot, Ticketing, Turnstiles, and Check-In.
• Track labor, including daily scheduling and break management.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for all team members, guests, and animals.
• Develop team members through training, feedback and coaching.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.
• Create and maintain team rotation grid.
• Respond to guest and team member needs.
• Report project status to Supervisors and Managers.
• Ensure strict adherence to cash handling procedures.

What You Will Get To Do

As an Assistant Supervisor for Guest Arrival, you’ll help lead and inspire a team to deliver great guest experiences from the get-go. You’ll model and perform the highest standards of service as you foster a positive atmosphere for everyone you come into contact with. Get ready to help us show our best right when guests first show up! You will:

• Supervise, train, and counsel Ambassadors
• Perform the job duties you’re supervising in Guest Arrival areas such as:
• Parking Lot
• Ticketing
• Turnstiles
• Reservation Check-In Area
• Track labor, including daily scheduling and break management
• Oversee opening and closing procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for all team members, guests, and animals
• Develop team members through training, feedback and coaching
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
• Create and maintain team rotation grid
• Respond to guest and team member needs
• Report project status to Supervisors and Managers
• Ensure strict adherence to all cash handling procedures

What It Takes To Succeed

• During peak season, at least 4 days of unrestricted availability with one day being a weekend day, and availability to work holidays
• During the off season, at least 3 days of unrestricted availability with one day being a weekend day, and availability to work holidays
• At least 18 years old
• Valid state driver’s license
• Ability to complete CPR/AED training/certification
• Ability to be certified on all attractions
• Outstanding communication, public speaking, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
• Computer proficiency with MS Office
• Comfortable working outdoors, around water and at heights up to 350 ft.
• Previous cash handling experience and ability to work multiple selling systems
• Ability to train on and use protective gear
• Flexibility in working varied hours
• Related Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Previous leadership experience highly desirable

Compensation

• 17.50 per hour
