Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for the Flow Cytometry/Hematopathology unit to coordinate daily laboratory activities and support the supervisor.
The role involves staff oversight, training, monitoring workflow and turnaround times, and troubleshooting operational issues to maintain instrument readiness and quality standards. It also serves as a leadership resource when the supervisor is unavailable to ensure continuity of lab operations.
The Assistant Supervisor will provide support to the Flow Cytometry/Hematopathology Supervisor by coordinating daily laboratory activities, assisting with staff oversight and training, monitoring workflow and turnaround times, troubleshooting operational and technical issues, and helping maintain instrument readiness and quality standards. The position will also provide a designated leadership resource for staff during periods when the Supervisor is unavailable, helping to ensure continuity of laboratory operations.
NYS Licensed to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Master's degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences with NYS CLT License and two years of Clinical laboratory experience OR NYS Licensed to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist with a minimum of four years of Clinical Laboratory experience. Specific visual requirements include use of both eyes, depth perception, ability to distinguish colors, and shades of colors.
2 years of supervisory experience.
M-F 8:00-4:30 rotating weekends and holidays
