Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, seeks an Assistant Supervisor for the CP Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory. The role performs routine and specialized testing following established procedures and related tasks, including quality control and preventive maintenance, ensuring accurate results and compliance with lab standards.

In the absence of the Supervisor, you will handle technical functions and supervise staff, coordinating with the lab team to maintain workflow.

Qualifications

• NYS license or eligibility to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Master's in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical lab experience with supervisory experience.
• Alternatively, 4 years of clinical lab experience with 2 years supervisory.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Assistant Supervisor of the CP Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory and performs routine and specialized testing following established procedures including QC/PM.
• Responsible for technical functions in the absence of the Supervisor.

Job Summary:

Functions as Assistant Supervisor of the CP Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory. Performs routine and specialized testing following established procedures and including appropriate related tasks (QC,PM, etc.). Responsible for technical functions in the absence of the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Masters degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences, two years of Clinical laboratory experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience OR NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, a minimum of four years of Clinical Laboratory experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience. Specific visual requirements include use of both eyes, depth perception, ability to distinguish colors and shades of colors.

M-F 8:30-5:00
