Job summary

Winter Haven is seeking an Assistant Superintendent Water Maintenance to lead field operations in the Water Department. You will mentor crew leaders, oversee safety, and manage daily tasks, emergencies, and project work to ensure reliable water service for the community.

The role requires proven supervisory experience, knowledge of water distribution systems, and the ability to develop policies, coordinate with agencies, and support budget and capital planning.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED required.
• An Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a utility setting are required.
• Experience with water distribution projects and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Division Head in planning, implementing, and directing water department programs.
• Provide leadership to crew leaders and staff; support performance evaluations and development.
• Maintain detailed records and metrics on operations and emergencies.
• Coordinate with leadership on strategic planning, budgets, and capital improvements.
• Engage with community, agencies, and educational institutions through outreach and public presentations.
