Job summary

MPI, a leading Southeast builder, seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent and Project Team on complex commercial projects across Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The role focuses on coordinating subcontractors, tracking schedules, ensuring safety and quality, and reporting progress while enabling long-term career growth within the organization. Travel throughout the Southeast is required.

Qualifications

• Construction management or related degree preferred.
• Experience with a reputable general contractor in full-time roles or strong internships.
• Demonstrated career progression and stable employment history.
• Experience on commercial projects, ideally $50M+ in value.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of subcontractors and daily site activities.
• Support planning and execution of project schedules and milestones.
• Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed to specifications.
• Promote and enforce site safety procedures and compliance standards.
• Participate in project meetings and progress reporting.
• Track site logistics, deliveries and workforce coordination.
• Help drive project completion through proactive problem-solving and communication.
• Long-term travel primarily throughout Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Description

The Assistant Superintendent will support the Superintendent and Project Team in managing day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Profile

For the Assistant Superintendent we are seeking:

• Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred
• Experience with a reputable general contractor through full-time roles or strong internships
• Demonstrated career progression and stable employment history
• Exposure to commercial construction projects, ideally $50 million+ in value
• Experience within multifamily, senior living, student housing or similar large-scale projects is highly desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast paced project environment
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast as project needs require
