Ajax Building Company seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support field execution on complex projects from mobilization through closeout. You’ll work alongside experienced superintendents and trade partners, gaining hands‑on leadership exposure and a clear path to a lead role on increasingly complex projects.

The role involves driving day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and upholding safety, quality, and schedule commitments, building the experience needed to advance to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman carpentry training and/or supervisory training courses preferred.
• 5+ years construction experience, OR 2+ years experience with 4-year degree.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements.
• Ability to motivate employees and handle different situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of craft personnel to ensure project is constructed by design, within budget and on schedule.
• Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
• Monitor personnel for compliance with safety and working procedures.
• Advise Superintendent of all potential problems and assist in problem solving.
