Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field execution on complex construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This role provides a clear path to the Superintendent role, with hands-on exposure to field leadership while working alongside experienced Superintendents and trade partners.

The Assistant Superintendent will drive day-to-day site operations, coordinate subcontractors, uphold safety, quality and schedule, and gain experience for lead

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman carpentry training and/or supervisory training preferred.
• 5+ years construction experience, OR 2+ years with 4-year degree.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements
• Ability to motivate employees

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of craft personnel to ensure project is constructed by design, within budget and on schedule.
• Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
• Monitor personnel for compliance with safety and working procedures.
• Advise Superintendent of all potential problems and assist in problem solving.
• Perform additional assignments as required.
