Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in Salt Lake City, UT seeks an Assistant Superintendent to lead field activities on design/build projects. You’ll work with senior staff to ensure safety, schedule, quality, and cost goals are met while mentoring team members in the field.

You will collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors to coordinate activities from preconstruction through turnover, promoting ARCO’s values and safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming graduate in civil/construction field.
• Interest in design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds.
• Previous construction experience preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Attend post‑award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.
• Develop construction schedules with the Project Manager, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
• Oversee daily field activities to ensure work is safe, on schedule, within budget, and per project specs.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure proper coordination across trades.
• Assist with material deliveries, shop drawing approvals, and material submittals.
• Prepare job progress reports, review field purchase orders and invoices, and monitor project costs.
• Maintain regular communication with owners, architects, and project stakeholders regarding progress and field activities.
• Lead and participate in jobsite coordination meetings with PMs, regional managers, subs, and project team.
