Job summary

Ulta Beauty is seeking an Assistant Stylist for a temporary role focused on guest consultations and product recommendations. You will work under an Elite or Master Stylist for the first few months, building skills in hair services, color, and makeup, while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

During months 4–6, you will start servicing guests of your own and continue to learn through hands-on practice, with emphasis on performance, guest service, and procedural standards.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of the latest salon techniques for performing haircutting, color, styling, and makeup applications.
• Basic understanding of equipment and chemicals used in technical cosmetology work.
• Basic ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell pro hair care and makeup products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service and contribute to meeting store goals for retail and service sales.
• Support mentor stylist in achieving sales and productivity goals with add-ons, color, and styling.
• Perform hair services and makeup applications after the initial training period.
• Demonstrate product demonstrations to drive sales and guest experience.
• Assist with in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed about new trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
