Job summary

Planet Group is seeking an Assistant Structural Revit Designer in Chesapeake, VA for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on building structural Revit models, preparing construction documents, and supporting civil design tasks within multi-disciplinary teams.

Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with AutoCAD are required. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to deliver accurate drawings, analyze design calculations, and ensure BIM standards compliance across

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in drafting tech or related field with 2+ years experience OR
• Associate degree with 3+ years experience OR
• 4 years progressive detailing and design experience required

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, proposal prep, site evaluations, and development of construction documentation and environmental plans as part of a project team.
• Work on diverse projects with various clients and project types.
• Assist in civil design including site design, roads, drainage, water/sewer utilities, and road/airport facilities.
• Provide drawing production support: analysis, layout, calculations for non-routine tasks.
• Develop detailed Revit structural models and construction drawings (plans, sections, details).
• Interpret sketches/markups and design calculations to create accurate drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve BIM model conflicts.
• Apply BIM standards to deliverables and manage project documents.
