Total Wine & More in California is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to grow the brand by delivering best-in-class service and building a distinctive store experience for customers.

You will support store operations, drive sales against KPIs, recruit and develop a sales-focused team, manage payroll, inventory, and vendor relationships, ensure compliance with alcohol laws, and lead by example to resolve issues and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of work experience with 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory retail role.
• Experience leading a sales-focused team and familiarity with POS and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs).
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team, including ongoing development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
• Support day-to-day operations, including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example, fostering a welcoming and knowledgeable store atmosphere, and resolving customer issues.
• Help maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
