Job summary

GPM Investments, LLC is seeking an Assistant Manager for a high-energy convenience store in Kalamazoo, MI. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations, run the register, assist customers, and help train a motivated team across shifts.

You must have open availability for weekends/holidays and be comfortable working second or third shifts in a fast-paced retail setting. This role offers weekly pay, a sign-on bonus potential, and opportunities for advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• Open Availability: weekends, holidays, and second/third shifts.
• Reliable transportation with a valid license and insurance.
• Physical readiness for cleaning, stocking, and shop upkeep.
• Minimum age 18+ years old.
• Proficient English communication and basic math.
• Willing to learn and obtain Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed and accuracy.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned.
