Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Hope, AR to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise handling, and closing/opening procedures while upholding corporate directives and safety standards.

The role emphasizes customer service, leadership, and organizational skills, with responsibilities including staff training and maintaining orderly stockrooms and sales floors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks and frequent movements
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise and handling damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect store assets including cash and adhere to safety policies
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing store associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
