C-A-L Ranch Stores was founded in 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID, by Clinton, Allen, and L. Wayne Murphy. The family used their initials “C-A-L” to create their brand. Our first store, located in Idaho Falls, ID, was called C-A-L Ranch & Farm Supply, with less than 3,000 square feet, primarily selling tillage tools and hardware. What You’ll Do

Supervise and coordinate store activities, especially during shifts when the store manager is not present. Your primary duties will include:

  • Managing specific store areas as assigned by the Store Manager.
  • Planning work schedules, assigning duties, and managing employee breaks, hours, and vacations.
  • Contributing to financial performance, merchandise placement, sales, expense management, and profitability goals.
  • Coordinating sales promotions and merchandise displays.
  • Supervising sales staff, inventory, cash reconciliation, and record-keeping.
  • Training staff on policies, procedures, and job duties; ordering merchandise and supplies.
  • Inspecting merchandise for correct pricing and display, and making merchandising recommendations.
  • Addressing customer complaints and returns to maintain good public relations.
  • Operating equipment like pallet jacks and forklifts safely; forklift certification required.
  • Selling merchandise and assisting with difficult sales.
  • Approving payments for merchandise.
  • Planning store layout and displays.
  • Securing the store after hours.
  • Handling firearms transactions in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including processing 4473 forms.
  • Maintaining physical fitness to lift and move up to 50 lbs., and understanding safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Supervises employees within their department as assigned.
  • Follows company policies and legal requirements in supervisory responsibilities.
  • Assists in hiring, training, evaluating, and developing employees.
  • Supports store meetings and safety initiatives.
  • Creates work schedules and approves timecards.
  • Implements company programs related to merchandising and cost control.
  • Resolves customer issues effectively.
